Paper 1

This is an exciting new approach to Leaving Certificate English, Paper One.

It has four section covering the main language areas of the syllabus:

• Language of Narration - non-fiction,
• Language of Narration - fictional and aesthetic,
• Language of Argument and Persuasion
• Language of Information.

It includes comprehensive coverage of compositional writing (Essay) and functional writing (Question B). The grammar section is clearly and concisely explained.

It includes exam-standard questions integrated within the text in order to reinforce classroom learning and gives realistic sample answers which meet the marking-scheme requirements.
